Retro gaming is coming back big time these days and we saw some very cool animation lately like PIXELS by Patrick Jean, where New-York was being invaded by 8-BITS creatures!

Another one, this time in stop-motion by Alex Varanese. He created pixels with little cubes and spent what seems to be A LOT of time to create this 8-BIT style video game animation. Awesome!
